K.C. Arborist, competing in the Midwest Tree Climbing Championships this weekend at Stagecoach Park in Olathe, Kansas

K.C. Arborist’s Brandon Hendrickson, Alex Lathrop and Jordon Moore will be participating in the annual tree climbing competition put on by the Midwestern Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture.   Participants will compete in the five preliminary events (secured foot lock, belayed speed climb, aerial rescue, work climb and throw line) to qualify as one of the five contestants who earn the right to move on to the championship round “The Masters Challenge”.   Preliminary events begin at 8 a.m. and final competitions begin at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 9th.  The public is welcome (free admittance) to attend the competition and encourage the climbers as they compete.

In addition, K.C. Arborist is putting on an Aerial Rescue Training Workshop for members of the Midwestern Chapter of the ISA, Friday June 8th, 8 a.m.  Members will review safety standards, ascending techniques, view demonstrations and have the opportunity to perform rescues.  Teaching this workshop is K.C. Arborist’s president and owner Brandon Hendrickson, a 3rd generation arborist, whose passion for arboriculture is unbeatable.
