Insurance
One of the most dangerous professions in the United States is tree care. Statistics have shown that working in the tree care industry is actually more dangerous than working for a fire or police department. This is especially true if the tree work is performed by untrained or amateur personnel. Homeowners are injured and even killed every year while attempting their own tree work. Any work that involves climbing of any kind should be completely avoided. Homeowners should never perform tree work from a ladder or attempt to cut down/remove his or her own trees. It is important to always contact a knowledgeable and insured tree care professional to handle all tree care issues. This is to ensure not only the safety of the homeowner, but for the surrounding personal property and landscaping, as well as properly caring for the tree. K.C. Arborist is fully insured to cover worker’s compensation, property damage and personal liability.

Safety Is Key
According to recent research done by the University of South Dakota, tree care workers have the highest accident rate of any city worker. Tree care is a dangerous profession, in fact the most dangerous act you can perform on a job is to remove a tree. There are numerous variables that come into consideration when dealing with tree removals and pruning. Unfortunately without proper training these operations can quickly turn deadly.
This sobering information is one reason why K.C. Arborist is always building upon our focus on safety. Each week our employees participate in tailgate safety meetings. This training focuses on safe work practices, equipment use as well as updates on the most current safe climbing practices. Additionally, our employees are provided with necessary safety equipment for their protection while performing work on our client’s property.
We are committed to following the American National Standards Institute’s (ANSI) procedures for “Tree Care Operations” (ANSI Z133) and our company training program emphasizes safe practices throughout our operations.
